There are some basic requirements that you need to fulfill in-order to make a tandem skydive.
- Age Limit: The minimum age to make a tandem skydive in the United States is 18yrs.
- Weight Limit: You must be under 230lbs. Some dropzones will allow up to 240lbs at a small extra charge on the day. Please check before booking.
- Height Limit: Whilst there is no height restriction for making a tandem skydive you will be assessed according to your body mass and height together for safety reasons.
- General Fitness: Whilst skydiving is not regarded as a strenuous activity there are strong forces at work during your freefall and parachute opening. If you regard yourself to be fit and healthy then you are cleared to jump. If you are recovering from recent surgery or illness then you must consult a physician for advice on your suitability to jump.
- Alcohol and Drugs: You will not be able to make your tandem skydive if you suspected as being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. This determination will be made by your instructor and his or her decision will be final. Tandem skydiving is regulated by the FAA and as such no alcohol or drugs may be consumed “air side’.
- Disability: Generally, mild disability is no barrier to making a tandem skydive and many people with disability jump each year without incident. However, if you are disabled and wish to jump then please contact us before making a booking to ensure that the dropzone you are choosing can cater for your needs.
- What to Wear? Please choose casual clothing, jeans, track suits, tennis shoes etc. (Please avoid wearing heavy boots with open eye holes as they can cause a hazard)
