At the Society’s Northern California Chapter, our emphasis is wellness . The Chapter is committed to the empowerment of people with MS, their families, friends, significant others, and all people affected by MS. We are committed to honoring and supporting the independence and self-sufficiency of people with MS by providing accurate and timely information, advocacy, material asistance, and emotional support. We are committed to dislodging prejudices, increasing understanding, and expanding the awareness of MS and issues of disability in ourselves and in other people. The Chapter was chartered in 1954, and presently has Three offices to serve you, We are the local resource for more than 10,000 people with MS in a 41-county area. The Chapter is governed by a local board of directors. We believe in a partnership between staff and volunteers, so our employees work closely with a network of people committed to fighting MS.
